Visual Communications, A 12-Month Evening
Program
The Visual Communications Program is a 12-month certificate program
that gives students hands-on experience in traditional studio courses
such as Typography I, 2D Design, and Drawing I, as well as technical
courses that focus on industry-current software packages.
Upon completion of the graphic design certificate program, students
should be prepared for entry-level positions in fields such as
publishing, media, advertising, and in art departments in various
fields. In addition to the teaching of necessary foundation skills in
rendering, multi-media, and animation, communication and professional
skills are also emphasized.
Associate Degree in
Applied Science in Graphic Design
The Graphic Design program at the Katharine Gibbs School gives
students the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills necessary
to earn an entry-level position as a production artist, layout artist,
illustrator, and electronic or freelance graphic designer. Gibbs knows
you need skills beyond conceptual design to keep your edge in a
competitive market.
